Rolling of planar and space curves
Goal of work: Study a problem. Matrix expression of equation rolling th one curve on the other. Investigate the chances of definition and despcription rolling one space curve on the other space curve. Create a program to visualize our results.
Master thesis examining rolling one regular curve on the other, one is fixed and the other rolls on the first. The new type of curves create with this movement. Unlike previously collected theories, whis deals with rolling curves, we do not express the movement as the composition of the displacement and rotation, but by identities at each moment. This way of definition the rolling can be easily extended to the space. The thesis examines the condition, whis must the curves have to rolling in this way, and inform about the movement in any dimension. The thesis showing specific types of rolling in two-dimensional and three-dimensional space. At the end of work, is a short description of software application which provides images of curves, which generated by rolling one curve on the other.
